Here at Sober Thinking, I want to share with you my personal experience of getting sober. I know you think being sober is going to suck but, it’s just not true. You can follow my sober journey from my very first day onward, on my Sober Diary.

Getting sober doesn’t have to be hard. Since 2016 I have lived and breathed sobriety. I have successfully navigated my way through all my sober firsts; though I’m sure there will be more to come.

I have gained so much knowledge and acquired so many tools along the way. I wish I had someone to point me in the right direction in the beginning.

About

I am living my life sober after countless years of drinking to excess. Drinking dominated every part of my life. I drank to de-stress, I drank to celebrate, I drank to cope, I drank to socialise. Drinking was so ingrained in my life that there was no room for anything else.

I wasn’t happy with the amount I was drinking, but I just could not stop. I thought I was the only person who felt the way I did and, I thought getting sober was going to suck; so I carried on drinking. Until one day it all became too much and on the 1 April 2016 I stopped.
