My Sober Story

Since 2016, I have lived and breathed sobriety. You can read my personal sober journey here.

I have kept a diary from my very first day sober and even though it was never intended to be published on here, I think it is important to share my sober story so you know you are not alone in yours.

About

I am living my life sober after countless years of drinking to excess. Drinking dominated every part of my life. I drank to de-stress, I drank to celebrate, I drank to cope, I drank to socialise. Drinking was so ingrained in my life that there was no room for anything else.

I wasn’t happy with the amount I was drinking, but I just could not stop. I thought I was the only person who felt the way I did and, I thought getting sober was going to suck; so I carried on drinking. Until one day it all became too much and on the 1 April 2016 I stopped.
